Dr Sethi leads the interdisciplinary Ecosystem Sensing research group in the Department of Life Sciences at Imperial College London, under the university’s I-X AI in Science initiative. The group creates new sensor systems and data-analysis approaches to build next-generation biodiversity monitoring systems.

Their research focuses on acoustic monitoring of natural environments, developing real-time sensing systems and AI to extract ecological insight at scale from audio data. The lab has led and contributed to the deployment of autonomous biodiversity monitoring networks from landscape to continental scales. Applications include conservation, ecology, pest control, supply-chain transparency, and more.
